We made it to the last day of the “Surf Craft” exhibit last Sunday at the Mingei International Museum in San Diego. The exhibition was an insane collection of boards of all kinds from the early 20th century to the present day. Everything from Fish, spoons, asymmetricals, paipos,, stingers, Simmons twin fins, to even a converted ironing board were among the myriad of epic boards on display. Tom “Pohaku” Stone, Bob Simmons, Hobie Alter, Al Nelson, Steve Lis, Jon Elwell, Ryan Burch, and Carl Ekstrom were amongst the all star shapers represented. Photos by Lauren Beitel
