Dark Seas brand ambassador River Covey recently headed south of the boarder for Mexico Log Fest. If you are unfamiliar with with the gathering, it vaguely resembles a contest but more of fun day out with your friends. Below River wrote a brief paragraph describing his experience and was kind enough to give us a few photographs that he manipulates into works or art from the trip.
"After escaping the monotone routine of everyday life in Southern California, a few buddies and I were left to adapt our paradigms to simpler, more refined times. In a place which allows no one time use plastics, with a wonderful family that is deeply rooted In the surfing culture. Casa Love gave us an amazing time and experience with a beautiful right point break just in front of the hotel. The Mexi Log Fest put on by an amazing innovator by the name of Isreal Presiado, it was a fresh perspective on contests, with the best judging panel for Traditional logging possible. It was certainly the best contest experience I have ever had. The new style for the contest broke away from the Mundane and made something revolutionary, which could alter the way people surf competitions. Wonderful Times with Fantastic friends Thanks For the great days in Sayulita, Mexico. "
